Short term rental La Quinta – will they stay or not?
On the November election ballot allowing La Quinta homeowners and registered voters to decide for themselves.
A yes vote will phase out non-hosted short-term vacation rentals in nonexempt areas by December 31, 2024. A non-hosted short-term vacation rental is a type of short-term vacation rental whereby the owner rents a short-term vacation rental unit for compensation for periods of 30 consecutive calendar days or less while the owner does not live on-site or in the dwelling unit throughout the occupants’ stay.
A no vote on this ballot measure will leave the current City of La Quinta ordinances in place which allow for short-term rentals when properly permitted.
